Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department Capt. Patricia Spencer issued a stern warning to visitors causing violence on the Las Vegas Strip following numerous arrests and citations made during the Labor Day weekend.
September 12, 2020. LAS VEGAS (AP) —. Lawyers representing the Encore Las Vegas have filed a trespassing lawsuit against 20 unknown people after a fight occurred at the hotel over Labor Day weekend. The lawsuit was filed by Wynn Las Vegas, which owns Encore, the Las Vegas Review-Journal reported. 'Be assured, Wynn will not sit idly by when anyone engages in mayhem or flouts government-imposed safety measures in violation of Nevada law,' the civil complaint read.

On Friday alone, officers in the Downtown Area Command made 28 arrests and issued more than 27 citations related to violent incidents.

We understand that our neighboring states all have COVID restrictions -- and their residents are looking for places to go and get entertained and get out. However, we cannot tolerate the violence,' Capt. Spencer warned.

Authorities did not specify about what types of incidents have occurred, and reiterated that multiple fights 'with large numbers of people' did take place at Strip properties.
Police also did not release any number of injuries or suspect details, adding that further information will be given at a later date.
Instead, visitors were urged to reach out to law enforcement if they witnessed or were victims of any crimes, especially during the last weekend.
'If you saw something, say something, detectives will actively investigate any crimes that occurred,' Capt. Spencer said.
News 3 has learned of two specific incidents on the Las Vegas Strip including an apparent brawl at the Encore Las Vegas over the weekend.
During our original request for comment, LVMPD refused to provide details but during a press conference Tuesday afternoon, it added there was an active investigation.
Wynn Las Vegas confirmed a disruption at the Encore casino that happened on Saturday night, adding that it will no longer tolerate groups of unrelated guests from gathering.
The resort also explained this weekend's incident was created by non-hotel guests and that several security measures were being enhanced including more uniformed LVMPD officers.
